City Bank Local Nature Reserve belongs to Cirencester, its people and its wildlife.
This is where we meet for work parties to help conserve and manage the habitat. We aim to meet once a month on Sunday mornings from about 10.30 to 12.30.
Everyone is welcome to join us.
For work parties, please wear boots and bring gloves if possible.
Mostly we use shears and clippers if you have them, though we normally have spares.

Our work changes throughout the year:
- September is a chance to get in the river and help remove scrub overgrowth from the riverbanks.
- October is a good time for any clearance work in the pond at City Bank Glade.
- For the rest of Autumn and Winter we help manage the grassland and scrub at the Old Nursery and we also conduct litter picking events at City Bank and along the river.
- From March to August most activities have to stop to avoid disturbing nesting birds so we switch to other things such as nature walks and surveys
