Nature Walks:
In Spring and early Summer, it is time to get out and about to enjoy some of the local wildlife.
Our recent events have included a walk at Barnsley Warren to enjoy the Pasqueflowers which peak in the second half of April.
We also visited Clattinger Farm near Somerford Keynes to enjoy some of the many species of orchid which grow there.

Wildlife Surveys:
Taking part in surveys offers a great way of learning about and appreciating nature.
Several of our members have good field skills. We have botanists with knowledge of flowers and trees, bird and bat recorders, watervole surveyors, reptile and amphibian surveyors.
We aim to do a number of surveys in Spring and Summer each year, most of those are open to join and a great way of improving your knowledge of the natural world.
Both City Bank and Kingshill have populations of orchids and we aim to have an orchid count in late June which is open to all. There are also a number of wildflower meadows where we have surveyed.
We have also carried out surveys for birds, bats, water voles, amphibians and reptiles.
